HOLY NAME PLEDGE*
AND PRAYER SERVICE
.
Blessed be God.
Blessed be His
Holy Name.
Blessed be Jesus
Christ, true God and true man.
Blessed be the
Name of Jesus.
I believe, O
Jesus, that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,
and I proclaim
my love for the Vicar of Your holy Catholic Church, Pope ................................
I believe all
the sacred truths which the holy Catholic Church believes and
teaches
and I promise
to give good example by the regular practice of my faith.
In honor of Your
Divine Name, I pledge myself against perjury, blasphemy, profanity
and obscene speech.
I pledge my active
support and prayers for the fulfillment of HUMAN RIGHTS for all
of Your people regardless of race, creed or color and for the
safety and protection of the unborn, the elderly, and the infirm.
I pledge allegiance
to the Flag of my country and to the God-given principles of
"Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" for which
it stands, while I pledge my support for all lawful authority
both civil and religious.
I pledge myself,
Lord Jesus, to the honor of Your Sacred Name and pray that You
will keep me faithful to these pledges all the days of my life.
Let Us Pray:
Heavenly Father,
we pray for Your blessing upon the work of the Confraternity
of the Most Holy Name throughout the world. Keep us faithful
to our Pledge and to the mission and purpose of the Confraternity
of the Most Holy Name so that in prayer and service we may become
a beacon in a darkening and sinful world. Most Merciful God,
we also pray for Your blessing and protection for the leaders
of our Confraternity, both lay and clergy, who guide us in this
way, and for the members of all parish Holy Name Societies; bless
those who are active, those who are aged, sick and dying, and
those who have gone to their eternal reward. "Save us, Lord
our God, and gather us together from the nations, that we may
proclaim Your Holy Name and glory in Your praise." Amen
