Devotion
to the Holy Name goes back to the Old Testament where you find
reverence for the Name of God in the second Commandment. The
beginning of the Holy Name Society can be traced back to the
l3th Century. Pope Gregory 10th in 1274 commissioned the Dominican
Order to concentrate its efforts on preaching greater devotion
to the Holy Name. For 7 centuries, men have come together to
grow spiritually. Certainly, joining the Holy Name Society can
deepen a man's faith. We have a Spiritual Director and you can
socialize with other Catholic men. Today, Holy Name members serve
many parish missions; Parish Council, Religious Ed., St. Vincent
de Paul Eucharistic Ministers, Alter,Servers, Ushers, Lectors,
Choir, Boy Scouts, Silver Threads, Youth Group, R.C.I.A., Children's
Liturgy of the Word, Parish Festival, Holy Thursday Rosary Pilgrimage,
CDT School Parrish Maintenance, and many more parish needs. Yet
the primary purpose of this thriving local Holy Name Society
is to promote love honor, and respect to the MOST HOLY NAME OF
JESUS CHRIST
